Frequently Asked Questions about Shipping

What is the difference between Ro-Ro and container?
With Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off), vehicles are driven onto the ship and secured – fast, cost-efficient and particularly suitable for driveable motorhomes and caravans. A container offers maximum protection from the elements and makes sense for very high-value or sensitive vehicles on certain routes. We advise you on which method is best for your vehicle and route.
Can I keep my existing shipping partner?
Yes – that is in fact one of our most important services. We book the sea freight using your customer number with your preferred carrier. This means you retain your existing rates and framework agreements without having to coordinate the pre-carriage yourself.
How large or heavy can the vehicle be?
We can transport all standard motorhome and caravan models available on the market. If you have special dimensions, simply contact us – we will find a solution.
How long does transport from Germany to Sweden take?
The total transit time depends on the departure port, shipping line and destination port. As a rule, from factory collection allow approx. 5–10 working days to handover at the departure port. We will agree the exact schedule with you individually.
Is the vehicle insured throughout the entire transport?
Yes – your vehicle is insured both on the truck and at sea. Important to know: the statutory liability is limited to 8.33 SDR per kg. For a motorhome weighing 3,500 kg this amounts to approx. €36,000 – leaving a significant gap on a new vehicle worth €80,000. For road transport the liability can be increased to 40 SDR/kg free of charge. For the sea leg we recommend our all-risk insurance WorldCover-Plus (up to €300,000), which also covers hail damage and the risk of General Average. Full details on insurance coverage →
